Looking Beyond Temporary Tattoos

As tattoos gain popularity and acceptance in the workplace, more and more are turning to their own tattoo — without lifetime commitment. Enter the airbrush tattoos. These tattoos can be applied to any part of the body and last longer than most water-based temporary tattoos. An airbrushed tattoo will last for about 7 days, and times time and a little baby oil to remove. They also have a more realistic quality. Compared to a common temporary tattoos – Henna – airbrush art goes on quickly compared and will not fade with water. It would take an artist about six hours to paint on a large henna design the same artist could airbrush the design on in around 30 minutes. This is a major amount of time saved for the artist as well as the recipient that must stay still during this process.

Another pro to using airbrush art over real tattoos is that there is no risk of infection due to piercing of the skin with a needle. There is no healing time needed with airbrushed tattoos. And, most importantly (to most!) is that there is no pain.

To do airbrush art in the form of tattoos you will need a few products. These include an airbrush gun, a10′ Hoses braided hose, stencils, glass airbrush bottles and an air manifold. Last but not least, you’ll need airbrush paints that are designed for the human skin. This is usually referred to as airbrush tattoo ink. To finish up the process you will need talc powder and 70 percent alcohol.

The stencils are available in a wide variety of designs thus giving you almost limitless creativity when using airbrush art to create tattoos. The talc powder is to be applied to the tattoo after it has dried. The powder helps to keep the tattoo from fading. The 70 percent alcohol is to clean the airbrush gun and glass bottles with after you are done.

Now that airbrushed tattoos are gaining in popularity, you can also find full airbrush kits online for about $800. Of course, there are many airbrush artists at local gathering places – festivals, concerts, and amusement parks, to name a few.

Airbrushed tattoos will last for about 7 days, include no pain, risk or infection, and can easily be removed. If you love the idea of a tattoo but not ready for the lifetime commitment, airbrush tattoos are the way to go.
